Gatton Park, UK

You may have noticed I like going to parks very much. Today, let's go to another one called Gatton Park in the UK. There has been a park here since the 15th century and in the late 18th century a famous landscaper called Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown was commissioned to redesign the park.

The park designed by Brown has lasted throughout the centuries and today we can admire his work when we visit Gatton Park. Part of his design included a series of ponds in this 600 acre park. Here's a selection of a couple. The reflection of the trees in the ponds creates a lovely scenery in the the cold winter day.

There is a lot of natural wildlife all around the park and particularly the pond. If you look to watch wild life, there's a Heron Hide, you can come in here and watch the many birds without disturbing or scaring them off.

Another part is called the serpentine, this is a canal that winds along the edge of the park and was created for people to stroll along.

The Rock and Water Garden was added in the early 20th centry. This is a rocky part of the park with various slopes. Artificial rocks and a decorative wall was built to blend in wth the natural landscape. They also planted snowdrops here and when I went in winter, the snowdrops were blooming on the slopes. I hope you enjoyed visiting the part as much as I did.
