Wisley Gardens

If you love horticulture, you will definitely love Wisley Gardens in London, UK. This is UK's second most visited paid entry garden, the first one being Kew Gardens which I previously wrote about. The whole garden is 240 acres and there is plenty to do and see here for a full day visit.

The center feature of Wisley Garden is the Glasshouse. This structure is 12m tall and as big as ten tennis courts. The inside is split into three climate zones, the tropical area, the dry temperate and the wet temperate. Each zone is planted with many rare and exotic plants.

The path outside the Glasshouse is called the Glasshouse Borders, you can see that in my first photo above. It is 150m long. It was very calming to walk down this path toweard the Glasshouse.

There are many other areas to walk around the garden, each with it own design and landscape. I went in late autumn and a lot of the plantation had turned into a lovely auburn golden colour.

I continued to walk around the other part of the garden. There was another lake here, and a different landscape. It's amazing how there's a different feel from one part of the garden to another. Definitely a great day out.
