Mercedes Benz World
If you're a car fanatic, especially of German cars, and are around London, you must visit the Mercedes Benz World at Brookland about 45 minutes outside of London. This is really a massive car showroom. Downstairs is a normal car dealership where you can buy new and used Merecedes. The gem is in the rest of the building.
Brookland is the location of the world's first purpose built motor racing track. It is very apt that one of the leading car manufacturer has chosen this location for one of its cente of excellence. When you visit here you can find out more about the history of Mercedes and Brookland.
On the upper floors, they have a selection of Formula racing cars that were actually used in the races.
In another section, there are some of the newest models and concept cars on display. For most of them you are allowed to sit inside, maybe you will like it and decide to buy one! I tried sitting inside one, but couldn't afford to buy it!
I love coming here because it is a great place for the whole family. The children can try out the Little Learner's experience in the miniature Mercedes-Benz cars. Teenagers can try to drive a dual controlled car with an approved instructor by their side. And finally grown ups can go on the AMG Driving Experience and drive on the "Handling Circuits, Dynamic Straight and low friction surfaces" and "even try your hand at power-sliding on our Wet Skid Circle."
I've never tried it before, but it's always an exhilarating experience watching other people drive and skid on the track. That's why I fully recommend this for car enthusiasts and a family day out.
