Dubai Mall - Big Shopping Festival
Dubai mall is the 2nd largest mall in the world.
The mall is actually part of the 20-billion-dollar downtown complex. It has a total of about 1,200 shops.
How to Get to Dubai Mall
You can come to the mall by metro. There is no need to take a taxi as the metro station will take you via Doha Street and you can walk through the many walkways to get inside the mall.
And all the walkways are equipped with flat escalators.
This place really has money!
The place is beautifully designed and sparkling clean everywhere.
Parts of the ceiling are solar paneled.
Dubai Mall is more than just an ordinary mall.
The mall was opened on 4 November 2008.
There are about 5 levels of open space so that you can really feel the big space in there.
This is a mall that attracts tourists all over the world so much so that it has become known as the shopping festival mall. The reason being that there are lots of festivals taking place here all year round. It is non-stop!
Even the Information Desk there is designed in such a way that nobody misses it. The Circular Drop down panel catches everyone's eyes.
The Gold Plated Dome Room
There was a special event going on here when we arrived. You get to see it in the center section of the mall.
There were displays inside the room for a fashion show that would take place in the mall.
Even for a common event like a fashion show, they would go all out to make the whole display very grand.
I took this picture from the top floor. As you can see, the space is so open and grand. What you see there is just a place for coffee and relaxation. Look how the tables and chairs are not cluttered together. Lots of room for people to move around and enough privacy for chats and talks with friends.
There are about 120 Restaurants in the mall
There is no lack of food and selections for you to choose.
Even the dessert place is neatly designed.
The rich locals come here to enjoy their coffee.
They all look so carefree.
Look at how neatly these chocolates are displayed. They even look like gold to you.
So you can tell that the Dubai people put a lot of care in designs and displays to attract buyers.
Do people buy?
I don't know.
They look so expensive.
There are 22 Cinemas
Even Cinemas, there are lots for you to choose.
I really wonder how many people are there watching the movies.
I suppose even if there are one or two, the place is open for all to enjoy for entertainment.
When we were there, I didn't think the place was crowded at all.
We were there in the weekdays, so perhaps the weekends would be different.
Local Shops
On the other side, there are more ordinary shops for the locals.
We spent a day here shopping and got some souvenirs for our friends and family here.
It is worth a day's visit.
