Strolling Around Hachiman-bori Cannal With The Beautiful Flowers
Hello everyone,
I've written before about the scenic view of Hachiman-bori canal during cherry blossom season. But in this post I'd like to show the beauty of the atmosphere in another season. It's rainy now, so many people think there is nothing interesting going on, but I went to see the queen of flowers in rainy season - Hydrangea flowers.
From Omihachiman Station to the Hachiman-bori canal, it's about 10 minutes by car or bus. This canal is connects the town to Japan's largest lake, Lake Biwa. Today was great weather - not too hot and a gentle breeze. Along the canal were some flowers blooming that made for charming scenery.
Those are Hydrangea flowers that I took from here.
One activity for tourists is to take a cruise through the history of this town. You can relax in nature and study history at the same time.
I strolled around the canal. There were not only Hydrangeas but I found some other beautiful flowers like the Water Iris. They were various colors - white, purple, indigo etc. The colors were blossoming alternately, wow! It was a wonderful view. I saw some people got great shots with them, including me.
After enjoying a short tour around the Hachiman-bori area, if you feel thirsty or hungry, there are some restaurants and cafes.

Beautiful canal! It looks relaxing and nice atmosphere. The flowers are really magnificent. I especially love the white ones, very gorgeous! Great capture! ;)
