Exploring Sapporo At Night

Hello everyone,
We are in Sapporo, after going back to the hotel to check-in. We chose a hotel near Sapporo Station because it has easy access to everywhere we want to go. We stayed at a business hotel called Hotel Toyoko Inn Kitaguchi. It’s quite convenient, just a 3 minute walk from the train station.
This is our room, it’s tiny but has all the amenities. Luckily, I got a good price. Why hesitate to stay here then? The hotel is good but the latest check-in time is about 4 p.m. if you are not a hotel member.
After resting for a while at the hotel, we strolled around Sapporo City to Susukino area. The sightseeing spots were all close together so we were able to walk there. The hotel staff suggested a sightseeing spot and explained how to go there. We followed the map but it seemed like we were lost so we had to use Google maps. 😆
Former Hokkaido Government Office
The Former Hokkaido Government Office is one of Hokkaido's charming places. It's composed of about 2.5 million red bricks. Inside the hall is a museum for learning about the history of Hokkaido. The front of the building is decorated with lights in winter.
Clock Tower
The Clock Tower was built in 1878 as a drill hall for the Sapporo Agricultural College. Now it serves as a museum.
Sapporo TV Tower & Odori Park
Sapporo TV Tower is a broadcasting tower in front of Odori Park. If you have time, you should go up to see the gorgeous views of Sapporo city, both day and night. The Sapporo Snow Festival is held annually at Odori Park in February. It’s one of Japan's most popular winter events and I recommend it.
Susukino
Susukino is the main entertainment area packed with bars, restaurants, shopping streets, hotels, pachinko parlors and other places which give it an atmosphere much like Dotonbori in Osaka.
See you in the next post. Hope you enjoyed it!
