Hamatome Swimming Beach
This beach is a nice local place for a quiet swim. There's quite a decent amount of sand and its not too busy.
We went on Saturday and it was really quiet. Its still rainy season in Japan and summer STILL hasn't come here. Hopefully this week will change all that though.
The day was cloudy but the temperature was just right for me.
We relaxed on the beach by reading and going for a swim. At this time of the summer, there are no stinging jellyfish around yet, a typhoon was nearby though so the waves were large, but thanks to the concrete blocks dropped in the sea nearby, the swimming beaches water was pretty still compared to the rest of the sea, full of debris though...
Anyway, to sum up, this beach is relatively quiet, has some picturesque scenery around, a few small restaurants nearby, toilets and cold showers also. There's a small hill nearby which you can walk up and get a nice view of the area towards Shizuoka city. Yaizu is close by too.
