A Memorable Trip to Samosir Island
By the time you enter the Samosir territory, you will be served with the breathtaking views while the cool air started seducing you to get deeply in touch with many attractive spots that exist in this island. It is also called Toba Lake, one of the vastest lakes in the world. I was thankful for having a chance to visit this famous tourist spot in Indonesia a few months ago. Toba itself is located in Prapat, North Sumatra, Indonesia. In order to reach this place, I had to be ready with an exhausting journey, and spent many hours on the road was not a matter as long as I could get there safely.
We booked a public transportation for 4 days as we were dying to experience a memorable trip to Samosir island. The trip started at night and we made there by noon. After having a short rest, I and other folks continued to book a local boat that would take us to Samosir Cultural Performance and Shopping Center in Tomok. While boating we could see the borderless lake along with the mountain connects one another.
Not more than an hour, we arrived at Tomok pier which meant we were ready to go off board heading to culture village. As I heard, Tomok has a tremendous cultural exhibition and the souvenir shop were there to welcome visitor. These small shops sell a lot of ethnic stuff with affordable and bargainable price. That was the reason we managed to visit this village.
Before we went into the cultural exhibition spot, I managed to drop by at this small stores where I could buy the various local souvenirs, such as clothes, hats, neckless and other interesting accessories that would be the gifts for my family. When I put my step on this track, the rain was just stopped and left a chance to go on shopping.
This is Sigale-gale, a wooden puppet. As a story goes, this puppet is originated from childless woman named Nai Manggale while another says that it is the manifestation of the king's son who died in a war long time ago. It has been here for many years and become a must visited spot in Tomok. For more information you can read Sigale-gale.
