Mini vacation coming soon :)
Hey,
We are planning a tiny vacation with my bf. We both really deserve it.
The weather forecast shows minus 30 degrees Celsius in the next week in Estonia. What would be more enjoyable than after walking in freezing and beautiful nature to enjoy different saunas, and relax in the jacuzzi?
We have visited many times the Laulasmaa Spa, and we will go there again, for sure, but this time I would like to try something new and different. Laulasmaa has everything available - hot sauna, good food and beautiful nature around.
So, as there are so many spas in Estonia, it's quite difficult to make a choice. Obviously, the decisive location depends on its surroundings and nature, maybe we will find some abandoned buildings to visit.
So, I made a quick review of where we could go:
Narva-Jõesuu has 2 spas - Meresuu and Noorus, about 200 km from Tallinn.
Narva-Jõesuu and Narva are border towns of Estonia. There is mixed an Estonian and Russian culture. I am rather thinking that there is more Russian culture. There's definitely a lot to see, a ghost town is near.. I have written about it:

Toila, 175 kilometers from Tallinn. In the same direction as Narva-Jõesuu. In addition to the famous spa, you can look around in the Purtse fortress, visit Valaste waterfall and the Ontika sea coast.
There are 6 spas in Pärnu, 120 km from Tallinn:
Pärnu is called summer capital of Estonia, but certainly, there is activity in the winter as well. Pärnu Country has natural beaches, quiet endless bogs, and ancient woods. Certainly, there is an amazing nature in the winter. I found information from here - Abandoned Pärnu hospital and paranormal phenomena? Paranormal!? I want to see. I guess.
Rakvere: 100km from Tallinn.
Nearby we could visit abandoned Kunda cement factory, Rakvere Castle, and the notorious sculpture of Tarvas.
In fact, the main thing is to get out from the city, to enjoy the silence, nature, the hot sauna, the good food and the best company.
So, if some of the readers have visited some of these places, please kindly share information and suggestions.

Hmm.... Ida-Virumaa sounds nice :) Up for discussion later!
I'm actually from Ida-Virumaa, but I haven't gone to the spas in Narva-Jõesuu, just the one in Toila.
Actually, I wouldn't consider it even going to a spa, we just visited the thermae a couple of times.
It has a pool that has one part where the water goes around in circles, dragging you with it; and a jaccuzzi-ish spot. There are also hot tubs further away near the saunas. I'd also recommend grabbing a milkshake inbetween saunas and the pool / hot tubs!
It doesn't really have a big ''wow'' factor, but at least it's relaxing. You could also go have a walk in the Toila park, which is very beautiful and right next to the sea and Valaste waterfall, too, which is just around 10km away!
Just be careful near the cliff, as it might be very slippery around there!
Thank you for recommendation. As we haven' t been in Ida-Viru for a long time, we might have nostalgic "wow" 😉
I'm curious to see the Valaste Waterfall and some of the deserted places around that area... probably wouldn't have time for all...
Thanks for tips!
Can't wait 😉
Nature is nature we never think what will be happen with us tomorrow it is up to our destiny what is in our destiny tommorow how we can complete our dreams true. I like nature as well and love winter holidays ! All the best for ur future with ur bf
