#trial by comics : developing a character - my first attempt ...
I hope I’m not being too ostentatious to keep posting my drawings … I like taking part in steemit contests just for the thrills. I learn a lot in the process because it requires discipline to actually do things.
This is therefore my initial concept idea, sketch or doodles for the Trial by Comics contest by @kommienezuspadt. You can visit the original post about the contest here.
I’m greatly inspired by the work of @kristyglas on the steemit platform. Besides working really hard on her own drawings she’s organised weekly activities for us and I do appreciate that…
She also supports other artists, and thanks to her I am beginning to get to know the work of artists like @greenleaves.
I have always liked drawing and you may or may not be aware I’ve been doing a drawing a day since inktober last year.
Sometimes I post my efforts here on steemit. I mostly however exchange my doodles with a friend and nothing gets ‘published’.
We just both have the same word. We draw wherever we can (it literally is ‘wherever we can’) and then send our response to each other on messenger… as simple as that … It keeps us busy, it keeps us 'sane' :D
So this contest is a great opportunity for me to ‘once again’ come out completely out of my comfort zone and go public with it.
When I was about 11 my best friend at the time scolded me for ‘always drawing cute things’ (not those words because it was in my native Spanish). That made a bit of an impression on me. Incidentally, she’s a nursery teacher now (those poor souls… ). I have continued drawing and I try not to draw cute things (but who cares anyway!!).
My developing character is a forest creature who looks after the forest and will do anything to protect it.
I am sure you have heard about the benefits of forest bathing … Imagine this character works behind the scenes : keeping the forest 'peaceful' and 'refreshing' for you.
I still need to work on the character so that it doesn't look 'bored' or ' moody'. I still need to make it stronger and work on the landscape it inhabits.
Taking part is what counts... Thank you ✏

I like this guy. Maybe the expression is one of concern for his forest :)
Thank you for the support @steven-patrick 😁 Yes... that must be the reason for its glumness...
Looks more concerned than bored. I like the character :)
Thank you very much @ivan-g :D

I believe I have corrected that now @artzone. Many thanks for your visit to my blog.
I think this is a great idea ... and a great character. I like the way it looks, in fact, I think I know someone with the same expression :)
😂 Thank you @shanibeer ! I need to concentrate on different expressions and actions next ... I normally draw something and 'abandon' it, but this activity gives me the opportunity to develop it further...
