The seventeenth extremely old city was the Mughal capital of Bengal, and numerous royal residences and mosques remain. American designer Louis Khan's National Parliament House complex encapsulates the gigantic, quickly developing present day city.
In Dhaka's old city, fantastic, seventeenth century Lalbagh Fort contains a gallery of works of art, weapons and beautifying expressions.
