Despite being a relatively modern language, French is said to have been created by the French in about 50 AD. What is interesting about this timeline is that French can be traced back to an ancient Germanic tongue, once spoken in what is now Spain and France.

This fact makes French especially relevant today, as a number of people may have a connection to a Germanic heritage. It is also interesting to note that today French is a world language, as it is spoken by more than a billion people in at least 85 differen.................
