Need of a new trending mechanism

Current trending mechanism simply based on the magnitude of how large the reward(or upvote) of the posts will never going to display the right trending posts.

Can we create a new criteria so called “Recently most viewed”?

In that criteria it should completely disregard the magnitude of the reward on each post but only recognize two things. Resteems & View counts. (This is a combination of potential exposure & actual exposure.)

First step would be to bring back the mighty old “view count”. We used to have it 3 years ago.

Then, let’s think of redesigning a new mechanism from a mixture of how many resteems are being done from accounts with how many “net active followers” amongst all the accounts that had resteemed the post and how many view counts is the post actually making.

Also this new criteria should consider the birth date of any posts pretty minor. Because there are really good posts that were written several years ago but still deserve to be on “Recently most reviewed” depending on any market events. Or at least allow us a filter option to choose the time frame. It could be from posts in the recent 7 days, or from a month, or from a quarter, or a year or from all period. (Similar to how google trend time frame filter is designed.)

Can we do that? Steemit?
