The PlayStation 5 is finally landing in select territories around the world for its second launch day, but in the U.K., the long-awaited event has already fallen apart–and even pre-orders are taking a hit, with some even being the subject of theft accusations.

In the spirit of console generations past, the PlayStation 5 didn’t enjoy a set worldwide release date, like the Xbox Series X and S did on November 10. The PS5 was released on November 12 in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea; the rest of the world gets it today (November 19), save for China, South America, and Indonesia.

You’d think retailers would have taken the extra time to prepare, but here in the U.K.–where the entirety of England, is “enjoying” a second lockdown–some retailer websites have unsurprisingly gone to ground, including that of Currys PC World, one of the nation’s leading electrical retailers.

Currys had excitedly promoted its full PS5 range going live this morning, but before Sony released stock to the company, it inadvertently set new PlayStation 5 orders live. Those who accessed the website to secure their console before the official release time had their order canceled; Currys initially planned to delay and restart its launch day sales but has since postponed it, with no word yet as to when it will give it another go.

Meanwhile, other major retailers including John Lewis, Argos, and GAME have reported website problems. GAME itself had to delay the release of new stock due to technical issues.

However, GAME’s PS5 pre-orders are also the subject of huge complaints and accusations of theft, which are being directed at Yodel, a logistics company.
