Turn The Darkness On: Down With Black Myths

All of us have fallen into the stage of always wearing black, that gothic trend, sometimes bizarre, other simplistic and ofen right; because we have heard and even affirmed the premise that: "The black color suits everybody". Driving us into a comfort zone and some ghost strength, yes ghost. Because, wearing dark colors, not only black, has many myths that lead us to make mistakes where our look is quite committed or sloppy. Let's learn a little more about it to improve and make a "perfect look" next time we want to wear a dark piece.More than demystifying we are going to highlight aspects of those "clichés" in detail and learn to use darkness in our favor, without looking like a sack of potatoes or a bad Halloween costume.

Culturally speaking black is a color, however, for experts it is not considered as such, for them it is the result of the absence of light. While it is true that where the light fails gives the impression of little space, narrow, thin and rigid. But this is not entirely true at the moment of dressing and decorating spaces, so that "the black always slim", falls completely as infallible law because we have to considere the purpose, textures and shapes to wear it, in order to look harmoniously. For example, a shiny black piece gives the opposite impression to stylize, it gives volume, suitable for thin figures if the purpose is to look bigger than you are.

On the other hand, flat dark tones are used in specific areas to balance the body. If you have broad shoulders and narrow hips, The best place to the black or other dark color is on the top of your body, so you achieve a visual balance. If you like prints, then the small ones are suitable for wide areas and the larger ones for tiny silhouettes, also the darkness as background of other shapes and colors will give the impression of trifle, while on clear backgrounds it will accentuate the amplitudes. Everything will depend on where you want to drive the attention.

Keeping the consideration of other aspects to use dark tones as garments, we had the belief that "black suits everyone", we owe this to the great Coco Channel, with its legendary LBD (Little Black Dress), because she handled an intimate palette of cold colors, which obviously was fantastic to most of the women with the dominant European features of the time, and that's why it became so popular. Knowing this, we must stop to detail more, because each of us contains a genetic load colorimetric among the hair, the complexion and the features that define which colors favor us more, giving a natural brightness that highlights us and others not because they opaque us, harden the face and highlight imperfections. If this last one happens to you, combine it with a color that fits you, could be a citric one probably, either in accessories, makeup or another piece of clothing at that height, it will make you look and feel great. It is therefore important to dare to play with the variety of chromatic palette that gives us this world and forms.

"Black is appropriate for every occasion", this is debatable, because each culture has its codes, such as the eventualities and social patterns where we live. something like: it would be good use it for a funeral but not for a wedding, which is also debatable once again by protocol codes, remember that we saw Victoria Beckham wearing a navy color suit, with red shoes at the royal wedding, and we also have the Edna's trend. Which leads me to emphasize once again in the form and possible requirements, which have to be taken into account use black or dark palette. If it is not forbid, use it, but in a striking and balanced way in your figure, highlighting your personality. Dare and give lighting to your look.
