Tree Tuesday - The Copey

in #treetuesday5 years ago

THE COPEY

It is a tree that is located in Isla de Margarita, Nueva Esparta State, specifically in the capital La Asunción, in the Cerro El Copey National Park. The name of this park is due to this beautiful Copey tree. In my opinion, it is a strange tree because its roots are not like a common tree that extend at the bottom and look for depth. This tree produces roots in its stem and its branches. When the roots fall to the ground, another tree is produced and another Copey is growing.

Its roots
Almost the whole park is covered by this type of tree. The roots are piled one on top of the other. And grows side by side. Sometimes you can believe that it is a tree, but the reality is different. There are several trees in one.

Its leaves are broad and produce a yellow and white flower. At that time I could not observe the flowers

Your Fruit
Its fruit is strange because it looks like a guava, it is green, but I also got a dry one.

I loved being able to visit this park with my family and one of the park guides.

I recommend this Park as a place to breathe the pure air of nature and spend a different day out of the routine.

Nature is really amazing. Thanks for these gorgeous photos.
Is that fruit edible... and if yes, is it good?

Yes, the wonderful creation of God is incredible. To the order!. I also love these photographs. And it is a poisonous fruit for humans but not for birds and wild animals.

hello @noritza .. I enjoy reading your post as if I'm with you with your family to enjoy the fresh clean air. I know it's hard to find the flower because it must be somewhere high on the branches.. do you know that this fruit is poisonous to human? and you can sign the leave?

If right. It is poisonous to humans, however when the fruit is opened, it contains seeds that are eaten by birds and wild animals.

Yes.. you can read it on wikipedia, find clusia rosea or clusia major😊 birds love it, it is a hemapiphyte tree and sometimes it looks like straggling ficus. Thanks to you.. after reading your post, I search about the tree out of curiousity😊.

Nice fruit! I wonder what it tastes like? ... and looks like, when you don't get a dry one!

I have dropped by as @cicisaja featured you in the @pifc Curation Contest!

It is not good fruit because it is poisonous. I do not dare to try it, because then I will not be able to continue sharing photos hehehe, it is a poisonous fruit. I would like to know why it is poisonous for humans and not for animals? A good question to investigate

Fascinating tree! Thanks for sharing so much information - and such great pictures!
