Tree Tuesday - The Look Alike Passion Fruit...!!
Doing my afternoon walk through Lumpini Park the other day i came across this particular tree which had this fruit growing on this tree that looked identical to a passion fruit i thought to myself ....WOW... one of my favorite fruits i am going to have myself a feast free for all there must have been about a dozen of these trees all around me.
At that moment my mouth was starting to get watery thinking about the taste of that sweet sour passion fruit then i realized wait a minute passion fruits don't grow on trees they grow on a vine and there flowers are a purple color not white so i started to question myself what the hell is this fruit it certainly looks like a passion fruit to me it has the shape and the color.
Then on closer inspection i touched and felt the fruit it certainly didn't have that softer skin feel like a passion fruit it felt much harder like a nut shell i noticed a few of them on the tree were purplish in color like a riper look so curiosity got the better of me and had to pick one of the tree the skin looked like it was breaking away from the fruit thinking well it might be a different variety of passion fruit.
Well i was wrong pearling the skin of the fruit slowly turned out to be a artificial passion fruit disappointing but in any case i thought would look good as ornament to have displayed in your fruit bowl on your kitchen table and to be honest with you i have seen them displayed in shops and restaurant as a ornament so now i know what tree they come from a what there use is so i decided to take a couple home for my fruit bowl.
