Tree Tuesday - Logs and Leaves !!
We all love our trees we share a lot of beauty with them and our earth would be a sad place to be without out friendly envionmental trees and yes will feel sad to see the fallen trees but i am going to explain to you don't be sad it is a process of mother nature and it has lots of benefits to our ecological interactions.
In the process of snags and laying dead wood in the forests , as they are decomposing they are releasing lots of them juices nutrients which provides for our beautiful wildlife animals out there in the forest and also the mushrooms and the fungi that grow on or around the dead wood also helps break down the organic matter and releases it back into the nutrients back into the ecosystem so it's all working to the benefits of mother nature.
So you probably wonder how does this dead wood or snags end up been decomposed well there are hundreds of different species of bark beetles , insects and even worms get in on the act of decomposing these dead woods mainly by eating the bark away and then drilling into the log eventually breaking it down.
We may look at dead trees as been un-attractive in our forests but in actual fact they are very important to our forests in aiding new growth to new plant form and putting back essential nutrients into our ecosystem. So you see those trees are not really dead they are thriving with life.
