An Almost Horror Tree Story - A Tree Tuesday Contribution
Hello tree lover Steemians. It's time for Tree Tuesday, an initiative of @old-guy-photos.
This is one of three plumeria trees in our garden. It's about 18 years old.
Although plumerias grow into a tree they are actually considered as flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae. They are a deciduous specie meaning they shed their leaves annually and are broad leafed. The plumeria is also known as Frangipani or Lei flower and are native to tropical regions such as the Philippines where I live.
The photo below shows the plumeria tree with flowers but with practically no leaves because it had just shed its leaves at the time the picture was taken about 6 months ago.
Recently the leaves had begun to grow back and started to reach the electric lines outside the street. To avoid any problems arising from electrical interference my wife and I decided to have the tree trimmed and hired someone to do the job. We gave him instructions what we wanted him to do and confident that he understood, we left to buy some supplies for the week. When we got back, look at what he did!
Luckily we got home before he started on the 2nd and 3rd tree. We were able to save them from the same fate as the first tree. Whew!
Good thing plumerias can grow back their leaves quite fast. It'll be good in a few months' time.
That's all for this post folks. Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting. Stay safe and help keep others safe. Wear your masks and observe social distancing.
