I've recently seen ants making nests under discarded rock wool (insulation for roofs etc).
They seem to clearly understand the purpose of the material which is to regulate a stable temperature in their nests.
A remarkable adaptation. Guess I should report that to an entomologist.

It's remarkable how nature adapts to it's environment. The only one that's slow to adopt is humans 😏
