Prague is generally a highly developed tourist town.

Consider many of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Although I have the objections that I will discuss below, I will agree that its historic center is enchanting. Ideal place for a long weekend with your beloved. Generally the city offers endless walks to the old town (Mala Strana) in the small town (Stare Mesto) and the castle, which is perched on a nearby hill overlooking the city.

Prague is generally a highly developed tourist town, with excellent transport network, making it easy to reach even the beginner traveler. The good of tourist development is the abundance of travel packages at very economical prices, but this unfortunately results in its historical center town to become a big zoo full of tourists and kitsch outlets selling out their cultural heritage.

I therefore suggest that if you can withstand the cold to dress well and travel to Prague off season, that is winter, so that you can experience the magic of the city away from the hordes of endless tourists. Another smart tip is to stay in the city center to enjoy it 24 hours a day. It's really terrible the feeling of walking on Charles Bridge at 8am alone and two hours later becoming unbreakable. Unfortunately most hotels that suggest travel agencies are located far from the center so be sure to find at least what you choose to find near a metro station. My favorite hotel, located in Stare Mesto, two minutes walk from Charles Bridge is the BLUE KEY HOTEL. The rooms are large, the location as we said ideal, the breakfast is rich and the price is relatively good from 110 euros to the double room with breakfast. If you travel offseason you will find in Stare Mesto several decent decent hotels around 80 to 100 euros if you travel in summer it would be good to book early through the office or over the internet.

Your first walk will definitely be in the old town square. The medieval astronomical clock in its heart counts the futility of time and gathers crowds of tourists who are eagerly waiting for their beats to photograph it. The old TYN church with its twin towering lit nights is offered for artistic photography and the myriad cafes of the square invite you for a hot chocolate or a myrrh coffee. From the very opposite side of the clock begins the Parizska street of Prague, full of expensive shops, restaurants, cafes. Who said that there are no Armani, Louis Voiton and Prada in Prague? At the end of Parizska you will see the Intercontinental one of the oldest hotels in the city, of dubious aesthetics but excellent location. If your balancing takes 200 eur for a room overlooking the river, dare it !! I personally prefer the smaller hotels in Mala Strana or the expensive boutique hotels of the Jewish Quarter.

To the left of Intercontinental you find the Jewish Quarter. There you will see, along with a multitude of Jewish tourists, that it was left out of the pre-war Jewish community. The hawks, the houses, the cemetery. Now the district is considered inn and is full of galleries, hotels, bars. If you have no reason, do not spend money to see the cemetery, nothing special. Just walk along the charming streets and look at the art shops.

But the landmark of the city is the famous Charles Bridge. It unites the old town with the small part and from early in the morning, until late in the evening, it laments with life. The only hope you have to see her leave and appreciate her towers, statues, greatness is early in the morning. For those who have the shopping ideal time for photography. It is really wonderful to cross it to Stare Mesto overlooking the fairytale castle that is perched on the nearby hill. You will walk it and you will go back to it, you will buy souvenirs from street vendors, listen to music from fantastic little groups, you will be enchanted !!

Stare Mesto is my favorite neighborhood. It's a center point. Keep the charm of Mala Strana without the endless tourists' lair. Check out the church of St. Nicholas, it's worth watching an afternoon ecclesiastical organ recital, get lost in the narrow streets of the neighborhood, walk along the river and finally head for the castle.

The best time to visit Hradcany (castle) is early in the morning. I may be tiring, but tourism in the city especially during the summer months is unbearable. So start early and start climbing the winding road joining the Mala Strana with the castle. The route is mildly uphill, offering stunning views of the city and leads to the entrance of the castle shortly. Do not get in immediately. Get up and go and see the old town monastery that listens to Loreta. Do not miss it, it's great! The time has come, however. After the monastery, walk through the gate of the castle and wander for hours in the alchemist's gold alley, look at the museum and admire the imposing church of St. Vitus. Report that you will spend here an entire breakfast.

Mala Strana, Stare Mesto and Hradcany can be the heavy tourist artillery of the city, but also the new city has its charm and history. The excellent art nouveau buildings of Wenceslas Square, the Louvre cafe, the shops of the modern city, certainly do not have to go unnoticed by the traveler. Once again beats the heart of the modern city. Here you will see the inhabitants of the city will understand that real PRAGUE is not the gold triangle Mala Strana, Stare Mesto, Hradcany. Here, in Wenceslas Square, the city's inhabitants rose in the midst of oppression, and the 89th velvet revolution took place here. Today this elusive modern square is the commercial center of the city.

The day passes quickly and you come in the evening. The suggestions for a lot of excursions, but you should not miss out on anything is the spectacle that hears in the name of laterna magica. It is a mixture of music, dance and cinema. If your artistic weaknesses are not exhausted in the bouzouki you visit. You have performances almost every night, you find yourself in the new city by the opera and in your hotel will easily help you find tickets.

Another classic choice is Prague 's Black Theater . Especially if you have not seen a show in Greece do not miss it. There are a lot of Black theaters in the city but the best is at the beginning of Parizska at a distance from the old town square and you call IMAGE BLACK THEATER.

If you like Jazz here is your paradise. Two clubs with live
jazz every evening give endless enjoyment to lovers of the genre.
I mention REDUTTA in the new city near Laterna Magica and the opera. It's an underground jazz club that has become famous after Clinton's visit to it. Right on top of it you find the famous Louvre café that deserves a visit to admire its ornate decoration.

It's unbelievable how many classical music choices you have to watch. Students sell classical music concert tickets to every town fan. The spectacle is rated and the prices are cheap. Keep it as an experience, you will not miss.

I left the food for the end. I think the focus on a trip is particularly important, but I also understand those who do not want to spend money for this purpose. Mental behavior but I can not fail to mention 2-3 good restaurants for all the ballads.

I start from the most economical choice of about 15 euros per person with a glass of beer. You will find Kolkovna and you are in the heart of the city (V KOLKOVNE awww.airliners.gr_community_images_smilies_icon_cool.gif very close to Parizska.Traditional Czech food with excellent beer.It is popular with tourists so you need a reservation.SQUARE

is the favorite joy of Prague good juniors. It is located in Stare Mesto behind the St. Nicholas Church (Malostranke namesti 5/28) and here you are considered to be the Sabbath necessary. About 30 minutes ago the person with wine.

Kampa Park (Na Kampe 8b) boasts a fantastic river and bridge overlooking the river. And here you can count around 30 euros with wine.
