my 2021 reflection, pt 2.
Travelling to Cape Town!!!
After everything was finalized I was able to travel to Cape Town. Well… tickets were bought, bags were packed, goodbyes were said and
that was that off to Cape Town ladies and gentlemen. I travelled 20 goddam
hours across the entire country to Cape Town in a bus. I arrived in Cape Town
at around 7 am in the morning and oh my God this place is gorgeous, the iconic Table
Mountain was breath-taking, the ocean blue like the heavens, I don’t know man,
but the trees were greener, the air was fresher, the entire energy was so calm,
welcoming and just relaxing. Cape Town is totally different from Johannesburg
obviously.
The University of Cape Town.
The pastor came to get me from the bus depot and we drove off to Gugulethu,
as we turned around the mountain he said to me “Look up the mountain, do you
see YOUR school, the red roofs?”, I looked out my window and there was the
campus of the University of Cape Town on the lower slopes of devil’s peak
spread out majestically and yes that was the last thing I remember seeing
because I fell asleep in the damn car cause a bitch was mad tired and that’s 20 hours of no sleep for you!
