RE: Dinosaur Valley State Park - In Path Of Dinosaurs

Thank You

The park really does have a lot more to offer than just dinosaur tracks.

The Paluxy is one of my favorite rivers. We explored a lot of it. Just before the river enters the park there is a ford, where you can drive across the river.

There is an old cemetary from a town that was destroyed by a tornado and never rebuilt, and a nice waterfall where White Bluff Creek dumps into the river.

The Glen Rose area, with its caves and springs was a haven for moonshiners during prohibition.

Many of the older buildings in Glen Rose are built of petrified wood. It was such a popular material that they stripped countryside bare of it. The location of any remaining petrified wood is kept secret to protect it.

The whole area is rich with history. I miss it.
