Awesome write-up! My favorite one there is the Mammoth Hot Springs photos - that's just freakin' cool (as you said.)
Numbers, I've learned that the ideal number is (at least) four. Why four? Because if someone gets hurt, you can leave someone with them and still have two people to go for help.
Thank you, The entire park was absolutely incredible. The park rangers recommend at least 3 people when hiking but I agree with you that 4 or more is perfect.
