Ayutthaya's art treasures, the libraries containing its literature, and the archives housing its historic records were almost totally destroyed.

This is a pity... and unfortunately that kind of senseless destruction of mankind's History is still happening nowadays in places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Palestine, Yemen, just to name a few. They keep being bombed by savages who know nothing but hatred and violence... and their History is being erased, year after year.
