✊Find out THE SECRET that will help you survive the biggest crisis! TripLog #1
I chose this place because I have always been fascinated with the cuisine, traditions and people, besides, life in this country is relatively cheap. I packed clothes, recording equipment, electronics and together with C. (my girlfriend) we set off into the unknown.
I have left the "previous life" behind for now, although I still have a few things to do and commitments to complete. Besides them, there was nothing left. Routine, day-to-day life and vegetation in the sense that I'm don't making my dreams come true have disappeared. My journey supposed to be a searching for tastes, inspiration and recipes. I wanted to meet people, get to know their lives and be a part of it. Thailand was great and everything was going well over the entire month. Our next stop was Malaysia.
“KL” KICK MY ASS
I knew that it could be hard for us to make a living only from the money we earned on Steemit and we would have to tighten our belts. But I never expected the situation that happened to me in Kuala Lumpur.
Since we arrived to Malaysia, we have had problems with money, but we have managed somehow. It changed on Tuesday when together with C. (@see-it-feel-it), we moved from the suburbs to the centre of Kuala Lumpur.
Before I could do that and have the money to rent a room, I had to sell some of our things in a pawn shop. It was the last resort because I had 1,5$ left in my pocket.
After a research, C. found a shop on the Internet, which bought used equipment and without any certainty whether it would accept our things we went to the place. It turned out that they buy basically everything and so we managed to get an extra 42$, which allowed us to pay for the previous apartment and rent a room in the center.
We wanted to move there because the room in the suburbs was small, dirty and we shared our bathroom with a very dirty couple. All over the place, they leave a mess, a stink and the remains of their last visit in the toilet. Additionally, they were flooded the floor with huge amounts of water, which spread urine and other chunks elegantly around the entire bathroom. We've been living this way for almost a week and we wanted to rest on it in relatively normal conditions. No luxuries, but in a clean bed and a normal bathroom.
Besides, as you probably guess, there is not much going on in the suburbs and it was difficult for us to get materials for one profile, not to mention two. In our situation, the rule is simple - there is no post, there is no food.
When we found the offer of the hostel for 10$ per night and in the pictures we saw a clean bed and a private bathroom we turned off the attention and here we made the biggest mistake.
Instead of reserving space for one or two nights as usual, we rented a room for 6 days. I cannot explain what led us or where this idea came from, but it has turned out to be fatal.
A HORROR-STYLE HOTEL
On the spot it turned out to be an ordinary s***hole. Fungus on the walls, humidity, everything was dirty and stinking with urine. There was no window in the room, no air conditioning, the fan after switching on threw a ton of mess out of it, so there was no access to fresh air. On the walls brown spots, the origin of which I do not even want to know, the dirty floor sticks to the shoes, and the bed looked like it was taken from a brothel. Just imagine a night in such a room.
It's the worst place we've ever slept in. Organising a mop, detergents and cleaning everything did not help. In this "hotel" dirt, fungus and humidity have already settled for good.
During the first three nights we slept a total of maybe ten hours and every morning we only waited for the daybreak so that we could finally leave from here and go exploring the city.
The living conditions in our "hostel" are so bad that we even thought about sleeping in the park, and here use only the shower and WIFI. Unfortunately, we have some bad guys in the halls, so we do not leave electronics in the room and a night on a bench in the big capital, with all the belongings is not the best idea.
We cannot afford to change our hotel at the moment. When I write this text in my pocket, I have the balance of 10,5$. That must be enough for us for three days. This is 3,5$ per day, for two people.
To better illustrate our situation, I will only write that lunch at a roadside stand costs 1,5$ per portion. The water we drink, in this climate 3 bottles a day, is another 1$. In addition, the first money that we can withdraw from Steemit will be on our account on Monday evening. The situation is very bad,I would even say tragic.
To be even more interesting, we have a room paid only until Sunday, so we have to spend one night at the bus station. Before that, to get to it, we have to walk seven kilometers with all our equipment and luggage, because we also don't have enough money for the bus or train tickets.
As soon as we book the transfer on Monday we buy tickets for the bus to Ipoh, finally run away from Kuala Lumpur and rent a cheap but clean room in the new city. The money will last only for two days, but still l can't wait!
FACING THE CRISIS
I am writing this because all these things have made me hit by a huge crisis this week. I was worried about C., felt tired, sleepy, hungry and constantly dirty. It was a very important and difficult test for my psychic.
But I had to find the strength in this mess to create materials for you, to make films and to move forward all the time. This strength was given to me by my greatest dream: MY OWN FOODTRUCK!
I have been dreaming about it for years and the whole expedition is actually one of the stages of making it happen.
I don't want to open another kebab or burger box in the neighbourhood. I want to create a place where unusual dishes and great atmosphere will be felt from the doorway. I went on a journey to find inspiration, try new flavours, get to know recipes and learn how to prepare them. In Thailand it was going really well, in Malaysia I can at most afford to have some naan bread and some fried rice with a strange taste.
I know that this is only a part of the story and if I go down this twisting road, I will open up a food-truck that will be unique. A baggage of experiences, flavors and experiences will certainly pay off in the future.
The Dream of feeding people from the four-wheeled bistro use to be just mine and I didn't plan to share it with you until the moment when it didn't start to come true and take real shape.
However, after what I have gone through here, I know that a Dream can pull a person out of even the biggest swamp, and I share this with you because I hope that in bad times you will remember this text.
SEEK, AND YOU WILL FIND
So find a real Dream that will allow you to survive difficult moments and every crisis. If you already have it, believe it very strongly and remember it when everything goes very bad - it will give you a lot of strength.
I have already learned that what is wrong will finally pass and that the Dream will remain. That's why I don't give up and I'll do everything I can to invite you to the opening of my new foodtruck at the end of this story.
Before my Dream can come true I have a long way to go and I invite you to the seat of a passenger.
All my journey will be shown and described on Steemit. I hope that my story will inspire and motivate you to chasing your dreams!
