You can get to the castle in a rented car from Dortmund. If you decide to still go by bus, then you need a bus number 300 from the Central Bus Station Hanover to the stop Pattensen, then by bus number 301 to the stop Marienburg Abzweig Nord, from there 2 km you have to walk.
