TSOI IS ALIVE! MONUMENT OF THE ROCK LEGENDS IN ALMATY

Soviet Soviet rock musician VICTOR ZOU. The opening was timed to the birthday of the singer and the 30th anniversary of the release of the film "Needle", in which the singer played the main role.
It was at this place, in the center of the city, at the intersection of Tulebayev and Kabanbai-batyr streets, that the final scenes of the film were filmed.

The bronze sculpture is made in full size (the only one of all existing monuments of Choi in full growth), on a small pedestal, slightly elevating above passers-by.
The sculpture was developed by Matvey Makuskin-Petersburg sculptor, author of the monument, which will be installed in St. Petersburg.

The sculpture reflects the image of Tsoi in the scene where he stands with a lighter in his hand. Hero Tsoi - Moreau in the struggle for his love stood in the way of drug cartels.
In 1989, Choi was recognized as the best actor for the role of Moreau in the "Needle".

The alley, on which the monument was erected, was executed in the style of Alma-Ata of the 80s, the time of the filming of "Needle". Benches, lanterns, plaques, planted Christmas trees - all create a nostalgic atmosphere of pre-perestroika times. Sponsors were local businessmen, fans of Tsoi, who grew up on the songs of the "Kino" group.
Along the alley, on both sides, there are pavement tablets with citations from the songs of Victor and his group

The opening of the monument was also attended by guitarist Yuri Kasparian.
So there was in our city one more cozy, beautiful place (in the people - Tulebayka) where there are not only fans of the singer, but also simply resting youth.
