The Fishing bastion is one of the most amazing architectural landmarks in all of Budapest, striking with its grandeur and snow-white beauty. Unique arches, windows, terraces, towers attract and fascinating of tourists who want to learn the secrets hidden in this fabulous structure. Travelers walking the bastion can think of themselves in the past centuries and feel like a hero of a historical film. This amazing place has become a great viewing platform with incredible views of Budapest.

The fishing bastion looks like a fairytale castle

We saw this beautiful snow-white castle from Pest on the other side of the Danube River when we were traveling in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It looked like a fabulous palace and we went there ...

We had to go across the river to another part of town called Buddha and go up.

Great views of the Danube River and the Pest open here

Why this is the name of the building is interesting for travelers. This is due to the fact that many local fishermen were working in the central square in the bastion. Of course, during this period there were many attacks, so the residents had to protect the fortress. It was fishermen who got this part of the wall of the bastion square and they were ready at any moment to abandon the trade and stand up for the city. The building was demolished during the war, but was later restored. It is because of its rich history that in 1987 UNESCO's Fisherman's Bastion added it to the World Heritage List.

The guides told us interesting things. The fisherman's bastion was built in 1899-1902 in order to have a decent environment around the church, and the public to have a chance to stroll here and enjoy the views of the Danube and Pest.

Seven Neo-Romanesque towers should symbolize the seven Hungarian tribes who came to these shores thousands of years before the construction of the bastion, and the name reminds that in the Middle Ages it was the fishermen's guild who took responsibility for the defense of this section of the castle in the event of hostile invasion.

The grand staircase leads to the castle. Ahead I saw a round arch through which a monument to a rider on a horse was visible. We learned who he was. It is an equestrian monument to Saint Istvan, the first king of the Hungarians. St. István Day, August 20 - Hungary's main national holiday in all its history.

A great place for a photo shoot to commemorate Budapest's most beautiful place!

Heroes of the Fisherman's Bastion

The Fisherman's Bastion stands on one of the highest places in the Hungarian capital, the Serfdom Mountain in Buda. The view that opens from this fortress causes you to catch your breath and remember the beautiful picture before your eyes - the majestic Danube River, a city with many bridges, small streets, and the parliament building look like on a palm.

The magnificent view of autumn Budapest is breathtaking!

The area around the church is spacious and beautiful. Here you can take many beautiful photos and relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery of historic Budapest.

St. Michael's Church is a masterpiece of ancient architecture!

My thoughts, touching the spirit of past centuries ...

And here I am, filled with excitement at the pearl of this architectural complex - St. Michael's Church, which is truly a masterpiece of ancient architecture!

Photo in memory of a happy trip to Europe's pearl!

The view across the arches into an amazing building that is breathtaking!

The most beautiful view of the Danube and Pest opens from the Fisherman's Bastion, so do not be lazy to climb it, especially since the entrance is free.

It was one of the most beautiful places I visited in Budapest!
