Wow, that sounds like quite the ride! Unfortunately I have kind of fallen out of my riding habit, something I need to correct. :)
Central Oregon does have some beautiful scenery. If you are ever in the area you should check out McKenzie pass HWY 242 that runs out of Sisters OR and will take you all the way to Eugene (about 100 miles). Here is a link to some more info about the pass part of the ride. For me it would be about a 25 mile round trip and is still on my list. Just need to get into some riding shape for the 2000 foot elevation gain going up. :)
Wow, you're getting my mouth wet for my next ride! Yeah, I feel I haven't been in the saddle for ever! 2000 foot gain? That sounds like the 3200 climb from Takilma, OR over the Grayback mountain into the Klamath valley in California. Or also the 2600 gain coming out of there over Bald Hill Road! Believe it or not, in the end it was these climbs that I look so fondly back on!
