It's not too late to say "Happy New Year 2020".
Over the long holiday, I visited Tokyo to see my old friends and go sightseeing. It is difficult to travel during long holidays like New Year in Japan because many shops and restaurants are closed. But it is not too bad. Some shops and restaurants were still open and welcoming tourists.
Tsukiji Outer Market
Tsukiji Outer Market is a wholesale market featuring a well-known tuna auction in Tokyo but it was closed in October and moved to a new location in the Toyosu market. But some shops and restaurants are still in business.
Almost all the foods are seafood such as crab, scallops, shrimps and others. You can try both raw seafoods or have them cooked.

This is Inari, which is a kind of sushi, but it is wrapped with tofu and covered with toppings such as crab meat, salmon roe, sea urchin eggs, etc. This is my order of crab meat and salmon roe, but it seemed like just crab meat. >-<
I kept walking around the market, wanting to taste seafood from some restaurants but all of them were crowded, so I just looked and passed by. I don't know if the street is narrow or there were just a lot of people. Please see and enjoy the atmosphere around the market with my pictures.

Tsukiji Market is closed on Sunday and some shops are closed on Wednesday too. No admission fee.
The best time to visit here is early morning if you want to catch the fresh products before crowds arrive.
How to get to Tsukiji Market
Take the Hibiya Subway Line to Tsukiji Station or Oedo Subway Line to Tsukijishijo Station.
