Why you should go to Rainforest World Music Festival (Malaysia) !

It’s next week (13 Jul – 15 Jul) that the 2018 Rainforest World Music Festival will be taking place in #Kuching, #Sarawak, #Malaysia !

Last year, I turned up ,with my family, to experience my first Rainforest World Music Festival ! With music from all across the globe, the main stage held audiences, as they were taken on a journey through different cultural sounds and bands !

This calm and family based festival is one that reflects #Sarawak. Nothing too crazy, but nothing ever boring. If you compare it to the vibes of a European music festival you will be disappointed. It’s not the place to get naked and let loose. However, it is seen as more of a community gathering and display of culture in my eyes !

We had the pleasure of seeing bands and dancers from The French Polynesia, #Malaysia, Scandinavia and loads of other places !

Getting to the festival isn’t the easiest, but there will be buses that shuttle from #Kuching out to Damai (the location of where the festival is) frequently.

As it’s a 3 day festival, you will need to find accommodation nearby, or in #Kuching. I honestly recommend staying close to Damai as there are many resorts available.

The Rainforest World Music Festival (often abbreviated as RWMF) is an annual three-day music festival celebrating the diversity of world music, held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, with daytime music workshops, cultural displays, craft displays, food stalls, and main-stage evening concerts.
