RE: Getaway from Kuala Lumpur

I have to say, I'm with you on the cities front just being swarmed by people and wanting to get away from it all. The caves look like something magical though and well worth the day out to get there. Can imagine it to be very calming once you've walked up all those steps and caught your breath back of course!

Glad you still had a great time there and that's often the way, you do end up missing a place once you have become familiar with it, even if you spent your time trying to escape!

Huge cities can be overwhelming indeed, especially in this part of the world, so it’s always welcome to take a break. That’s also why I love visiting gardens or places of worship within big cities since they feel like a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle.
In this case, the caves did feel really calming. Even though there were many visitors, lots of them were locals coming to pray so there was a mystical atmosphere that was quite soothing. It’s true that we were both panting when we got to the end of the stairs though. 😂
As you said, we ended up enjoying our stop in the city anyway, even if it took some adjusting.
