The secret storehouse of nuclear weapons in the Crimea ...
Few people know, but there are also such sights in the Crimea that can attract not so much their beauty and picturesqueness, as much as closeness and secret. And one of such places is the repository of nuclear weapons, code-named "Feodosiya-13".
The repository is located on the mountain Kiziltash, which for a long time was absent on maps for secrecy purposes.
A bit of history:
At the time of construction and operation of the facility, it was impossible to enter the territory, as it was carefully guarded by modern (at the time) traffic sensors, regular detours with specially trained dogs and several barbed wire fences.
It is interesting to note the fact that Beria himself, who was the head of the NKVD, regulated the construction.
Of course, today this facility is no longer operational. All weapons were ordered to be transported to another location. However, local residents say that on Feodosiya-13 remained buried with secret documents and devices that had direct contact with the weapon.
There are also burial grounds, but not for radioactive waste, but for tools and materials that were used to "handle" atomic ammunition. In 2000, during joint exercises, the British were able to verify with the help of devices: the radiation level was normal.
