We walked the Cape Byron Walking Track
when we stopped in byron bay, we went to the cape byron lighthouse. The Byron Bay Lighthouse is just 4km track to one of the most iconic landmarks in the Byron Shire, standing tall on the tip of Cape Byron. The track also passes through the most easterly point of the Australian mainland. If you are lucky, you can visit whales and dolphins here. Unfortunately we did not see any. With stops, the entire walk takes 2-3 hours. You can drive up Cape Byron to see the lighthouse from close by.
We thought, if you are already in Australia you have to see all the beauty of nature, including the ascent. We did not have a car;)
Hiking to the top of the hill will give you the best views of the beaches, the rainforest and the cliffs around Cape Byron. You can see the completely virgin beaches in the pictures. There were only very few surfers to recognize as small dots. Right next to it started the rainforest. The day we were there it was partly very foggy. That had as I find a great effect on the pictures. The cliffs went very steeply down, it was very rough.
We loved the view of the completely untouched nature!
On the route there are many different but very interesting stops to see: Fischerman's Lookout, Wategos Beach, Little Wategos Track and, of course, the Cape Byron Lighthouse.
After visiting the lighthouse, it's time to head back to town. We followed Lighthouse Road towards the south and enjoyed the scenic views of Tallow Beach down below. You can see the nice scenic view at the second picture.
The northern tip of this beach, known as the Cozy Corner. Its a surfing hot spot.
In the end, we actually saw a very large snake, but it was separated from the walkers and us by a kind of partition or railing. The railing was just because of the very steep cliffs. The snake became the real attraction and caused a lot of flashing lightning. She was also very tall and had a great pattern!

Lighthouse! I have a deep fascination about them and the philosophy hidden behind the thing, still on my plan to cycle up the all the lighthouses in my state, 25 in total.
Hopefully without encountering a huge snake on the way.
Wow thats a huge Goal. untill now i havent been to Brasil but i think the Lighthouses there will be just as great as in australia. Lol yeah hopefully Not ;)
