A perfect evening with free-living kangaroos
During our trip along the east coast of Australia, we spent a week in Port Macquarie. There we stayed in an airbnb accommodation. Port Macquarie is a port city located in the Australian state of New South Wales. There, among other things, we did a camel safari, visited a coala sanctuary (post is coming soon) and surfed almost every day. There I also developed my surfing skills;)
One evening our airbnb hostess took us on a trip to the area. She said, at dusk when the sun goes down you can watch great kangaroos there. These are wild kangaroos and not very trusting.
On the car ride we admired the beautiful houses. Even in Melbourne, the houses impressed us there. They are built differently than here, not heavy stones. Of course that also makes sense, the weather is very different there. The houses looked like they were in the movie, but see for yourself. It was so beautiful! What we also noticed: Unlike Germany, all the houses in the same street looked the same. The environment was very well maintained and the roads in a very good condition, there was nowhere to see even a blowhole;)
We stopped at a small stream and indeed: there were kangaroos everywhere. really, everywhere! Our host told us that Australia was almost a plague and the kangaroos were multiplying like rabbits. The scenery with the little brook and the water that mirrored the trees adn free kangaroos was Beautiful. They were really very shy. Every time we got closer, they jumped off. We even saw a couple of little baby kangaroos with their parents. Especially sweet was the baby kangaroo in the photo, it was probably too scared of us and wanted to go back into the bag of his mother.
So if you are in port macquarie, make shure you stop and wait for the sunset. In the early evening the kangaroos come from every corner. They were really everywhere! It was also a strong contrast to a zoo, we we visited kangaroos before. It was completely different and to be honest a much nicer experience, also because there were no touris at all. We just drove around the houses.

Very nice evening with magnificent sunset! The houses are beautiful and the kangaroos are really cute. I would be much excited to see them closely like this. You were very lucky.
I especially like the photo of the running kangaroo along the stream. The reflection of the trees and sunlight on the water is very beautiful. Great shot! :)

Looks like a great place to stay and I must agree that seeing wild Roos is a completely different experience to seeing the ones in the sanctuary(those ones seem so docile and unnatural). Really enjoying your blogs and look forward to hearing about the koala experience...
Yeah so true! Its in their nature that they are shy and you can not feed them. Thanks nice to hear :) my new Post will come soon. Thanks a lot for resteeming!!

Those kangaroos! So they're shy? I really thought they have nasty behavior.
Yeah they are really shy. We wanted to touch them but no chance they always jumped off ;) but we liked it so you can see that they are really independent and there are not some tourists who feed them
