Seeking Freedom On The Road To Nomad Day 4

What a wonderful evening last night in Montgomery Bell State Park. There was a gentle rain throughout the night with a light pitter patter on our roof. Below are my morning coffee views after stepping outside my door. This surely gave me two pieces of happy to start my day.

These are the moments that define freedom to me. To be able to just enjoy this moment like it is frozen in time. A gentle feeling of peace that fills me up inside.

Now back to reality. Time to pack up and hit the road day number 4. Destination is a KOA in Granite City, IL. I know what you are thinking. How can we go from the beauty above to a commercial campground like KOA? One word - LAUNDRY! Yay! I get to do laundry after a 7 hour drive, woohoo. Not really freedom, but just because we travel full time doesn't mean we can't be shiny clean.

So we leave the beauty and peace of Burns, TN to head through Nashville, Kentucky and St Louis on this cloudy and drizzly day.

Are we there yet? ARE WE FREAKIN THERE YET? We are now at the KOA in Granite City, IL for the evening. This was the first day we were set up and settled before 5pm. I started the laundry, Joe ordered pizza to be delivered and our son Nick burnt off some energy before dinner arrived.

It was a very long and uneventful day, but that is good when you traveled 335 miles. Total miles traveled 1085 with 1084 left to go. I am trying to be optimistic, but with some of the changes we have made to the trip, not thinking we are at the half way point, but we shall see.

Tomorrow our destination is Lewis and Clark State Park in Rushville, MO. See you on the Road to Nomad!
