In a place of Guernika ...
There are occasions, in which men and Nature agree, to repair, at least in part, something that more than an injustice, constituted, with all its burden of added horror, an authentic aberration.
It is impossible, when one approaches Guernika, not to think about it and to feel a twinge of pain in his heart - be it Basque gudari, Asturian vaqueiro or Castilian vagabonds - thinking that what he is really seeing is a mirage: a Phoenix Bird, a new Guernika that was reborn from its ashes - and never, believe me, rather - after that, unfortunately, famous bombing, that during our pathetic Civil War, devastated the population.
It is nice to see, however, that although the Remembrance remains, the Time, undoubtedly executor, but also justiciero, has been erasing, fortunately, the bad consciences and now Guernika, besides being a beautiful city, is also an Allegation to the Beauty and Peace
The proof of it, we have it very close to where still, after the centuries, homage is paid to what was an emblem of the city: the old, druidic Oak, in that wonderful Park of the European Peoples, which calls, if not to unity, as it should, yes at least to Peace and Respect, which are also paths that lead directly to the Palace of Sophia.
A placid place, undoubtedly beautiful, that recalls, when you see it, those wonderful Japanese gardens of Kyoto, where Beauty, as I said, besides Peace, also have another well-defined name: Harmony.
