Before going to the hanging bridge, let me share to you a brief introduction of La Castellana. The following information is not my own context. It was copied and pasted it here for reference purposes only.

La Castellana is the hometown of my father where most of our relatives are residing near at the main town. For your information some of the barrios from different haciendas don't have electricity and in terms water source they get it from " Bu-bon " or Deep well. Where resident are using " timba " a customize pale to " get water from the well. Then they strain the water using a clean cloth to eliminate other substance and keep it for drinking. The next option is from " Suba " or river water to wash their clothes and cleaning the dishes.

This hanging steel bridge with approximate length of 40 meters and more than a meter wide. It is located with in the town walking distance from the public market.

The hanging bridge is made of flat steel bars, different sizes of round bars, Suspended " Kabilya " or Cables to support the bridge with a diameter of 1 1/4 , 4 feet screen on both sides for child safety purposes, stable concrete post on both ends and joints are welded properly to avoid any accidents.

This hanging bridge was built to address the residents concern for them to easily cross the river without risking their lives on the rushing flow of river during rainy seasons. Though this bridge can only accommodate human traffic, including the single motorbikes or bicycles. At least this lighten up the burden of the community, where the main concern is for the safety of their children.

I know you would rather choose to explore beautiful mountains of Negros, visiting historical landmarks like old Spanish churches, try our local food and many other fun activities.

Though hanging bridge of La Castella is not that as special for your travel destinations. But the reasons behind before it was built is an amazing idea that anyone should appreciate it's simplicity.
