On The Road To Nomad - Day 2 (5/19/2018)

Day two is in the books. Today our trip took us from the Santos Trailhead in Ocala Florida to High Falls State Park in Jackson Georgia. We started out with a wet and muddy set up to prepare our trailer for the road. Checked the tire pressures and lug nuts on the truck and the rig while @juliabreheny made sure everything inside the rig was travel ready. Then we followed the handy dandy checklist that Julia made for set up and tear down. In this case, tear down.

TRAVELLER TIP # 1: Always make sure to check your slides and awnings for debris to avoid causing serious damage to your rig. For safety purposes it’s probably also wise to use a ladder.

We got on the road about 10:00 am and crossed the border in to Georgia just a little after noon, stopped at a rest stop to have some lunch then high tailed it to our destination for the evening.

Julia took an accidental detour about 3 blocks from the state park on to a narrow road. After about 2 miles of the GPS telling us in her most annoying Siri like voice to make a u-turn we found a small fishing spot on the side of the road with enough room to pull in, back up and get turned back around . I jumped out of the truck to remove our sway control system so Julia could back up.

TRAVELLER TIP # 2: Never back up with your sway control system attached. Serious damage may occur.

We pulled into our spot a little after 4:00 and after having some dinner decided to take a small hike. There is some really beautiful scenery here at High Falls State Park.






Our dog JoJo was so happy to be out of the truck that he did this…
