The palace was built in 1745-1764. It was the first summer residence of magnate Jan Klemens Branicki. An interesting fact is that the building was built on an artificial island, in the place of an earlier, damaged residence.

The palace was damaged during the November Uprising. After the reconstruction, it served as the textile factory of the Moes family. In 1915, the building was seriously damaged as a result of hostilities. In 1930, the building housed a hospital, but the structure fell into ruin.

In the mid-1950s, the local authorities decided to rebuild the palace, which took place at the turn of the 1960s-1970s. Since then, it houses the Palace Interior Museum which is a branch of the Podlasie Museum in Bialystok.
