[한국 생활] Public service, love is... and banking system in Korea

in #travelfeed6 years ago

I continue to share with you, dear friends, interesting facts and moments from life in South Korea.

Public service

First of all, you will not stay hungry in South Korea. The first time I was very surprised that where do not look, some cafes and restaurants. And, not only with Korean cuisine. There are many cafes with different Asian cuisine, there are plenty of European restaurants too. I'm already silent about various fast food, hot dogs and street food.

In addition to world famous fast food like McDonald's and Burger King, Korea has its own network of burgers and is called Lottery. The company is a subsidiary of a large Lotte corporation. There are even burgers with shrimps. And the prices are slightly lower than in McDonald's. But the most important thing is that the system of food delivery works perfectly. There are special mobile applications with which you can choose whatever you want, even cakes and coffee. Delivery usually takes no more than 30 minutes. Except, lunch hours, when the most famous cafes are rush hour.

Many cafes work 24/7, so even getting hungry at 2 am, you can not worry that you will remain hungry.

Basic menu in Lotteria

I work in the field of tourism and often hear from my clients rave reviews about local toilets. Why? Probably because they are practically everywhere. And not only that they are quite clean, so also free. I remember how much traveled around Europe, there was always a problem finding a toilet. In Switzerland, friends came across a toilet, the entrance to which was worth 2 euros, and in which without a gas mask you will not come. Although, I think that we are more likely just so "lucky". Maybe something broke out in there, or the cleaning lady fell ill. But still going to the toilet for 2 euros is still a luxury.

Banking system

I really like the banking system in Korea. Open an account in a bank not only quickly and easily, but also for free. Yes, and bank cards can be obtained free of charge for a couple of minutes. Although recently the procedure for opening a bank account for foreigners has slightly complicated. I remember when I opened an account with an Italian bank, I thought I would never be opened. First you need to come and make an appointment, then come and fill a bunch of different papers. The Italians are still bureaucrats. And then they had a system suspended and told me to come next time. And how long I waited for a debit card. And how many different commissions were filmed, although they promised that this would not happen. Close the account is also long and painful.
And in Korea you can come to any bank, fill out the required forms in a few minutes and woo-a la! You have your own account with a Korean bank.

Korean style

Many, probably, already heard about plastic surgery in South Korea. In the area of Apkujon clinic plastic surgery is very much, they literally stand one on the other. Maybe, for example, there is a four-story building and all the floors are occupied by different clinics of plastic surgery. Moreover, they are popular not only among the local population. Foreigners come here too much. So to make plastic here, it's almost as simple as going to lunch. Some parents give their children an operation as a gift at the end of the school. The Koreans are obsessed with European appearance. Every second Korean made an operation for the second eyelid, and every third Korean increased the incision of the eyes. Most of the stars, the so-called K-ROR, have long corrected some flaws in their appearance.

Drum Cats

In addition to the topic of appearance, I will tell you about one more Korean tradition. Earlier, in Korea, the girl cut her hair when she parted with the boy. So, if the girlfriend suddenly came with a haircut, then on a personal front, there have been changes.

Earlier in Korea, girls could wear super short skirts and no one looked back. They even in the fierce winter could wear a skirt without pantyhose and go out into the street. BUT! If the girl had a little decollete, everything! Everyone began to look at her with condemning glances, and the most conservative ajumma (the so-called women aged 40+ years or married women) could express a couple of far from pleasant words.

Love is...

In Korea, I look with tender emotion at young couples, and sometimes also some families. There is such a trend here that couples like to dress the same way: soccer shirts, sneakers, jackets. And when the family goes: dad, mom and baby, and everyone is dressed in the same way, then how can you not smile. And, they can get dressed in T-shirts with different cartoons. In a word, seriousness does not smell here. Everything is very nice and simple.

In Korea, young people celebrate every 100 days spent together. And usually for the first 100 days they give each other silver rings.
