7 World's Continents Photo Challenge - Saturday - South America - Peru

One of the most historic countries in South America is what i believe Peru!
Peruvian territory was home to several ancient cultures. Ranging from the Norte Chico civilization in the 32nd century BC, the oldest civilization in the Americas and one of the five cradles of civilization, to the Inca Empire, the largest state in pre-Columbian America, the territory now including Peru has one of the longest histories of civilization of any country, tracing its heritage back to the 4th millennia BCE.

I was traveling from Lima down south to Paracas National reserve! I am not a city guy so did not spend long in Lima, to busy and noisy! Paracas is a big desert located on the Southern Pacific! It's a little town on the beach but its not like the Copacabana but nature is stunning. Dry and desert. I love it.

From paracas many vast boats go to the island of Ballestas Islands National Reserve. Full of penguins, birds and sea lions! Here you can book a tour by high powered boat to go there! It can smell pretty nasty :p Many trips can be boked to go to the desert of Paracas but I got myself a private guide with a car for the national park. Most of the busses and tours don't go that early in the morning and i wanted to get the sunrise and the good light conditions to make good pictures. And the temperature is much better in the morning.

In the park is one road, at least it looks like a road but it was the hard underground of the desert floor the was black from all the cars driving through the desert.

Left and right are a lot of tracks from dirt bikes running op the desert mountains. The desert floor is covered in fossils and prehistoric seashells! we did found a jawbone of some old animal.

The beach in Paracas are red of the high iron rich ground. The sea and the seaweed is green and the rocks are yellowish browne. Great combination!
