Andi is my " kababayan" meaning we reside in the same locality in our case Leyte province.We saw each other after shift and then and there decided to go out for some summer tan.So we heed home and meet up in SM Mabolo to take a van to Gaisano Cordova by van (Php 35)After which we bough water and some snack before taking a "tricycle "to the Cordova Sandbar(30pesos each )

Considering its cheap and near the city it makes a good choice for people who are in need of a tan or a short getaway from all their stress.

Its white sand even though not as fine as others as I had been .There are interesting sea life like sea dollars,shells and adorable crab.The only thing I dont like is the trash that greets you.I guess we still have not put to heart the leave no trace policy.Because of that I was not comfortable dipping in its blue waters as I cant risk infection considering my kidney conditions.

My friend and I just did a lot of souvenir pictures.We intended to enjoy so not the scorching sun,the lack of change ,kiosk or comfort room or the intrudinh eyes of the locals will stop as from doing what we came for.It was a good thing that I enabled my phone to capture photos to the sound of my voice.

We did yoga and whole other silly pose after all "you only live one and life is so short " as most say.

To be honest since entrance is free and its weekend I was expecting it to be jam packed but it wasnt maybe because given the downpoints I highlighted like nosy locals and the garbage problems it lost popularity to much ecofriendly but expensive sandbars adventure like that in Kalanggaman .This place could have capitalized on its natural gift had they only been good stewards .It could have been managed better had they organized themselves into a cooperative.I noticed people are willing to pay more out of their pocket for a little comfort,and for greater purpose like empowering a community or saving mother Earth these days.

The people we met were setting up their umbrellas ,plastic tables ans grilling .I realized ,since pictures can be edited these days this would pass out as a good place for low budget group escapade.When Andi posted my pictures on her social network and tagged me many of my friends actually thought I was in an expensive resort.So whats does it taught me

Value is very subjective.While some posh beach in same area commands sky rocketing price this place could have same potential if only it keeps its pristine water and white sand.With so many into social network, word of mouth do play a big game so I hope by posting this many will check it out and hopefully their massive influx convince the local government in preserving this slice of paradise.Borrowing Robert Waylands words wheb he said,"The ocean stirs the heart,inspires imagination,and brings eternal joy to the soul"

When I am weary of anything and and I need to make a big leap of faith I often go to the sea .As I listen to the sea washing into the shore I feel the weight of the world leaving my tired soul.The vast blue sea enables me to go deep into my soul and ask myself hard questions as objective as I can.I love the sea as it allows me a sense of freedom and of childhood carefree life my corporate life doesnt allow me.Many times o wish I can write all my frustations ,heartaches in a letter then put it in a bottle to cast to sea yet I second guess myself if doing so would actually take away its toll on me.

There would be many things about me people will not understand and its fine with me.While many wash their dirty laundry in social network I keep my sorrows to myself.Into the deep abbys they go as there will be unspeakable grief Id rather forget than wallow on .Countless battles I had lost I sunk deep with no one witnessing me pinch.In this life ,I wanted to be remember by the joys I shared than my sorrows that shuttered me to pieces.

As I wrote this I learned Michael my classmate from elementary to highschool just died .He was rushed to ICU last Friday.He was just 40,a father and a husband .Life flee you in a blink of an eye so say thsoe I love you and actually mean them.Keep your promises because people who care about you expect you .Live without fear and love others as you love yourself as the Bible suggest.Let the abyss of the ocean be the measure of your joy.Know that though life comes with its sorrow there are still things to be happy about.

So on that day ,though our lovelife sucks we went home sunkissed happy because we choose to be out of respect for those who would want another second to be in this lifes crazy rollercoaster.
