I think if you are going to have anyone point weapons in your general direction then soldiers or police are probably the best ones, as they aren't about to accidentally shoot you for the most part. I've been held up at gun point before by criminals, I was less relaxed in that situation as I'm less confident in their training on gun handling.
Plus the soldiers were careful not to point their weapons directly at us.
It wasn't overly scary, they were fairly civil but stern, I'm sure it happens pretty regularly.
