Yes, it can be distracting. I work from home and my desk is right in front of a window with a beautiful view, and usually lots of animals to distract me.

I was working with an amazing view of Rhine river and I struggle to work in summer as I was distracted by tourists and all dogs running around :D I understand what you mean :)
