RE: Travel the U.K. in January?

in #travelfeed6 years ago

There is one reason to go to the north (although a bit further) I experienced 20 years ago:
I booked a house on Isle of Skye, expecting a rough and demanding brutal weather, cozy huddling up in front of a fireplace while the gale is scraming outside.
We ended up spending two weeks in T-Shirts, while the rest of Europe froze. In a way it was disappointing.
And around there, there was nothing, so no worries about closed places in January... For sure it would be hard to find sunblocker...

The weather can be crazy up north. While it’s been pissing down in Lancashire, it’s sunny here.

Skye is an awesome place, visited in 2018, in the summer and had amazing weather. I hear that’s not normal. Think we were both lucky.
