 # 7.35h the sun set and i was sitting on the balcony

Next stop on our trip is Rome and making my TREVI fountain coin growing moment and dream come true.

We arrived at 7 in the port of Civitavecchia to go of to Rome.

Like Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe a long time ago said : Yes, I have finally arrived to this capital of the world, I now see all the dreams of my youth coming to life ... only in Rome is it possible to understand ROME. So here am I ....I Want that feeling too!

# A neighbour ship when we were in the harbour

We board in a beautiful big port. It’s an Italian town with approximately 53000 inhabitants. And it’s overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its a busy harbour for all the big cruise ships and we are in line at the port. We see alot of ships that we see in other ports to. Most off the inhabitants here are working in navy and commerce. Offcourse tourism is big too. When we legt the ship the taxi’s and guides were there with their offers for all the cruise passengers. Civitavecchia is one of the most important harbours in Italy just like my hometown Rotterdam is for Holland. It also has a big military history due to its coves along the coast, which were a perfect shelter for vessels. The military history is everywhere and the information is huge.

But we went to the city centre of Rome and wanted to see the Trevi fountain. Just like a 1000 other people did aswell! The Trevi fountain was designed by italian architect Nicola Salvi and Giuseppe Panninni and is the largest baroque fountain in the curtains one of the most famous ones in the world. Just like the tower of Pisa i want that Trevi Fontain picture aswell! Just like the movie la Dolce Vita.

# A wish come true trouwring my good luck coin in the Trevi fountain

Offcourse there is the forum in Rome too. It’s the most important forum in Ancient Rome, located between the palatine and capitoline hills. It was also the scene of public meetings, law courts and gladiator games in the earlier days. Its so impressive to see the place i know from movie Ben Hur, i watchers that a few times and love the history and story, and now i saw the real deal. Very impressive. We went to see a museum there and saw alot of historic art. And all the flats from 1700 an up till 1900.

The Sistine chapel has the most exquisite frescoes by Michelangelo but the line was so busy we had to go in line for 5 hours to go in, so we just made pictures outside on the square. Just as the Palazzolo San Pietro there it was so busy and hot, that standing in line was to much with two kids.

Piazza di Spagna, was beautiful with the steps and the little balconys where you an have lunch. And all the bourgainvilles that make the place very romantic. The steps are all warn out from all the people that visit square.

Piazza Venezia was so white in the sun that the pictures were even more beautiful to see, and the history you can feel everywhere. The details are gorgeous and we made so many pictures.

Last but not leest we also visited the Colosseo, there the lines were busy again but you canwalk around the place and see all the history again. The pictures talk themselves. Whenever in need of a city trip do consider Rome, she is nice, beautiful and full of history. And do bring an extra usb card for you camera you Will need it. The bennucculars we brought were very handy aswell.
