I personally think that our general lack of caring for street art has a lot to do with the natural abundance of artwork in society. There is so much art out there that we dont really have to appreciate it. But maybe we should?

This is interesting to think about, and I personally tend to notice the street art first because it's sort of out of place and my mind notices things out of place and I love filming and appreciating street art, though I think maybe most people miss it because they aren't looking for things out of the ordinary and are mostly just focused on getting things done and getting from point A to point B. So if it's not in the proper setting like a museum or where ever, then they just don't really quite register it or recognize it. Just a guess, I dunno.

Another thing that is neat about Invader is that he takes this idea a step further by actually gamefying the hunt for his artwork. He has created an app that people can use to compete to find his work in the streets. Players take pictures of his invaders using the app and they collect the points that are associated with each piece.

That's awesome! Really clever and interesting and reminds me of how we try to get some places out into the real world in the IFC to take pictures with their phones and such. I hope we see more stuff like this in the future where people learn to gamify and increase interaction with their ideas and artwork and such. :)

From what I gathered he had placed 50 pieces of work around the city, so I knew to keep my eye out. I was actually quite lucky enough to come across a few of them.
