Night in Nizhny

Last winter I was in Nizhny Novgorod. It is a big and old city on the Volga. A city with a rich history in the old Tsarist Russia, and in Soviet and modern.

It so happened that I was in this city in the New Year holidays. There was nothing special to do and we decided to go and see how the new year is celebrated in a big city.

In addition, there was an opportunity to meet friends and relatives.

Naturally, I took the camera and managed to take some photos. The most beautiful place in the city is the junction of the Volga and Oka rivers. I stood on the steep right bank of the Oka and shot the bridge over the Oka.

It was cool, but I had a little brandy in my stomach. Despite the fact that I still froze cold, I received a great pleasure from the contemplation of this picture, which I want to show you.

In addition, the Nizhny Novgorod very beautiful Kremlin. Inside are the city’s state authorities, a museum and exhibition halls.

All this is surrounded by a large red brick wall.

Next was a Christmas tree. This year it was made of golden balls. It looks very impressive. Around the Christmas tree are all sorts of entertainment facilities. Hot drinks are also sold there. There are a lot of people around. Lanterns are burning and the mood is festive.

We walked around the Christmas tree a bit and set off along the main pedestrian street of the city in search of some good cafe. I must say, there are many of them. Nice to drink hot tea after a walk in the cold.

In a word, despite the winter and cold, Nizhny Novgorod left pleasant impressions. It is worth coming here in the summer.
